Coach Fink graduated from the University of Phoenix in
November 2000 with a Masters in Business Administration. He
got his undergraduate degree from Whitworth College in March
1986 with a Bachelors in Physical Education, along with
minors in both Business and Mathematics.
He became the Head
Coach for Ford Aquatics in September 2000. He has also
assisted with the University of Arizona under Coach Frank
Busch since 2003. While in Tucson, he has produced and
worked with numerous world class athletes including Lacey
Nymeyer, Dave Rollins, and Tyler DeBerry, who all came
through the Ford program before going on to swim and win
NCAA titles at the UofA. He has also had the honor to work
with athletes like Amanda Beard, Ryk Neethling, Simon
Burnett and Roland Schoeman while in Tucson. He also helped
represent Mexico as a coach for Juan Veloz at the 2006 Short
Course World Championships in Shanghai, China.
Before coming to Tucson,
he worked for the Phoenix Swim Club in Phoenix Arizona from
January 1995 to August 2000. He worked with the National
Team throughout that time and worked with their Olympic
Athletes both in 1996, and 2000. These athletes include
Jeff Rouse, and Gary Hall Jr. who represented the US in
Atlanta 1996 and Klete Keller who did the same in Sydney in
2000. Additionally, he has worked with numerous Olympic
Medallists, National Record Holders, and National Champions
during that period. In addition, he has worked with many
other athletes that were State Champions, All American
swimmers, or Nationally ranked. Many of Coach Fink's
athletes have gone on to swim in college at a variety of
levels including Emily Mastin & Sarah Tolar who have won
NCAA Championships at the University of Arizona.
Locally, he has been coaching in Arizona since 1986, working
with the following teams; Phoenix Swim Club (1/1995 to
8/2000), Rio Salado Swim Team (1991-1995), Phoenician Swim
Club (1989-1991), Swim Devils (1986-1989), Arizona State
University - Women's Team (1987-1988), and Marcos De Niza
High School (1988, 1991-1994). Roric
is a member of USA Swimming and the Arizona Swimming Coaches
Association. Additionally, he is certified by the
American Swimming Coaches Association at level V. |
